It shouldn’t be shocking to know that behind that corporate baddie is a goal-getter! You should have heard in 2024 that not everything on the internet is true. Life is not as easy as what we see on social media, or perhaps, what they make it seem to be. I’m talking to you who think life is a joke and you keep drooling over your favourite influencer 24/7, wishing you were born into that family and not her. I mean, get serious with your life!

People put in a lot of work to get to where they are. Yep, the same person who looks like they just walked out of a fashion magazine might have once balanced multiple part-time jobs, survived on noodles, and learnt to answer emails while waiting in line at the bank.

They get up really early not for breakfast but to dive into the chaos of work, personal life, and the occasional existential crisis. Their morning coffee is a liquid ambition. You get to witness their polished presentations and perfectly organised work life, but behind those neat schedules is a whirlwind of creative mess. That air of calm amidst the storm which you see? It’s the result of hours spent trying to keep it together while juggling deadlines, tasks, and the occasional minor meltdown.

Networking is another skill that seems effortless but is really a product of endless practice. Imagine charming everyone from startup founders to top executives while pretending to enjoy fancy appetizers that you can’t even pronounce. That’s not just natural charm, it’s a skill developed through lots of awkward conversations and the pursuit of the next big opportunity.

And then there’s multitasking. Have you ever seen someone smoothly switch from a conference call to writing a report in the office to smiling to their online followers while handling a small crisis with dispatch riders from their business? That’s not magic; it’s the result of many hours of practice, often with too many tabs open in their mental health browser.

The corporate baddie you see now might have once cried their eyes out from frustration networked like their future depended on it, and survived countless sleepless nights on nothing but ambition and sometimes, pizza.

So next time you see someone looking like a million bucks in the office or on your screen, remember they’re a goal-getter who put in the work, embraced the chaos, and turned challenges into wins.

At the end of the day, the one with multiple skills and values and many things to bring to the table is most demanded. Work on yourself!
