As artificial intelligence and emerging technologies continue to reshape the global landscape, the need for early digital literacy has become more urgent than ever. Bezalel Design Academy has taken a decisive step in addressing this need with the launch of Digi-Transform, a youth-focused digital awareness initiative designed to prepare teens and young adults for the realities of a rapidly evolving, tech-driven world.

On Monday, April 21, 2025, the Academy engaged secondary school students of Gomal Baptist College, Ogbomoso, in an interactive session focused on the evolution of technology, digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and future-ready skills. The initiative was created to ensure that young people are not left behind in an era where technology increasingly defines access to opportunities.

Through Digi-Transform, students were introduced to key developments in the digital space and guided on practical strategies for leveraging technology to their advantage. The programme emphasised the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and early exposure to digital tools as essential components for success in today’s world.

Despite the successful execution of TAIAC 1.0 and TAIAC 2.0, Bezalel Design Academy continues to expand its impact. The launch of Digi-Transform reflects the Academy’s sustained commitment to equipping its community with relevant life and digital skills that enable young people to compete both nationally and globally.

The event featured keynote sessions where facilitators highlighted critical technological competencies students need to remain relevant in the future workforce. Participants were also encouraged to continuously improve their skills to avoid redundancy in an increasingly automated world.

To provide a practical learning experience, students were introduced to artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, alongside other digital technologies. This hands-on exposure enabled them to gain a deeper understanding of how AI can be applied responsibly for learning, creativity, and problem-solving.

Through Digi-Transform, participants gained early insight into the value of digital skills as tools for solving real-world problems and making meaningful contributions to community development. The initiative reinforced the importance of starting early, building competence, and embracing innovation with purpose. They were also encouraged to be curious and dissatisfied with norms, as this is the seed to birthing solutions.

With the success of Digi-Transform, Bezalel Design Academy has once again demonstrated its readiness to act on vision and ideas that create lasting impact. The initiative stands as further evidence of the Academy’s growing role in shaping a generation of informed, skilled, and future-ready youths.
